At Braeburn Care, we are committed not only to delivering exceptional care but also to supporting important causes that impact the communities we serve. This March, our team is proud to be taking part in March the Month, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer. This initiative is especially close to our hearts, as prostate cancer affects thousands of families every year, including fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, and friends.
Why Prostate Cancer Awareness Matters
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with 1 in 8 men diagnosed in their lifetime. Early detection and awareness are crucial, as prostate cancer often develops without symptoms in its early stages. Campaigns like March the Month help to:
- Raise awareness of the signs, risks, and importance of early detection.
- Fund vital research into better treatments and support for those affected.
- Encourage open conversations about men’s health and well-being.
As a care provider, we see firsthand the impact that health conditions like prostate cancer can have on individuals and their families. That’s why we are stepping up, moving more, and getting involved to support this vital cause.
How Braeburn Care Is Taking Part
Throughout March, our team will be taking on the March the Month challenge, which encourages participants to walk 11,000 steps a day, representing the 11,000 men who lose their lives to prostate cancer each year.
We are doing this to:
- Raise awareness within our community.
- Encourage active and healthy lifestyles for our team and those we care for.
- Support fundraising efforts to help fund life-saving research.
Join Us in Supporting Important Causes
Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing regular updates on our progress – from team milestones to individual achievements, along with photos and stories that showcase our efforts. If you’re taking part too, we’d love to hear from you! Feel free to share your own journey with us by tagging us on social media;
We encourage our customers, families, and the wider community to get involved in any way they can, whether by participating, donating, or simply helping to spread the word about prostate cancer awareness.
Thank you for your support.
