As part of Dementia Action Week 2026, the Braeburn Care team was proud to attend the Dementia Information Exhibition at Southborough Civic Centre, joining a wide range of local organisations and businesses focused on improving dementia support services across our local communities.
The event, organised by Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells Dementia Friendly Communities, brought together care providers, charities and support organisations to provide advice, reassurance and information for individuals living with dementia, alongside their families and carers.
For our team, it was a fantastic opportunity to speak with local people about the importance of person-centred dementia care and the support available within Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Crowborough and surrounding areas.
Supporting Local Dementia Awareness
At Braeburn Care, we understand that dementia can affect every individual and family differently. Access to trusted dementia support services and local guidance can make an enormous difference during what is often an emotional and uncertain time.
Throughout the event, our team had the opportunity to discuss:
- Home care support
- Dementia care services
- Companionship care
- Live-in care
- Supporting independence at home
- Emotional reassurance for families and carers
The day reinforced how valuable community events can be in helping families feel informed, supported and connected to local services.
A Valuable Community Event
The event created a welcoming and supportive atmosphere from start to finish.
Visitors were also able to experience the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus, designed to help people better understand what living with dementia can feel like, alongside performances from the Musical Memories Choir which brought fantastic energy and warmth to the day.

It was wonderful to see so many organisations and community groups coming together with a shared goal of improving support and awareness around dementia care within West Kent.
Why Dementia Support Services Matter
At Braeburn Care, we believe dementia care should always focus on the individual – their routines, preferences, wellbeing and quality of life. Events such as this help raise awareness around the importance of compassionate, person-centred dementia support services while also ensuring families know where they can turn for guidance and reassurance.
We are proud to continue supporting dementia-friendly initiatives and strengthening relationships within our local communities. A huge thank you to Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells Dementia Friendly Communities for organising such a meaningful event and allowing us to be part of Dementia Action Week 2026.
